City Talks is a lecture series organized by Heritage Montréal that brings together architects, planners, and city officials to discuss important issues shaping the city. The objective was to design a poster that communicates the seriousness of these talks while capturing the attention of a professional audience.
The design draws from architectural forms and structures. A black and white photograph of a geometric building creates a strong foundation, while bold yellow shapes reference the rhythm of windows and architectural grids. Blue typography establishes a clear hierarchy and keeps the information direct and easy to read.
The composition uses a diagonal structure that guides the viewer across the poster and connects the photographic and graphic elements. The final poster was produced using screen printing, giving the colors a rich, tactile quality that reinforces the graphic character of the design.
